Positive Behavior and Intervention Support LogoPositive Behavior Intervention and Support:

Here at Cliffdale, we have implemented the North Caroline Positive Behavior Intervention and Support initiative. Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS) is a process for creating safer and more effective schools.  It is a systematic approach to enhancing the capacity of schools to educate all children by developing research-based, school-wide, and classroom behavior support systems.  The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students.  Rather than a prescribed program, PBIS provides systems for schools to design, implement, and evaluate effective school-wide, classroom, non-classroom, and student specific plans.  PBIS is not a program or curriculum.  It is a team-based process for systemic problem-solving, planning, and evaluation.  It is an approach to creating a safe and productive learning environment where teachers can teach and all students can learn.

Students at Cliffdale Elementary are taught S.T.A.R.S.

Box Tops for Education:

Parents we need your help!  Our goal for this past school  year was  $500.00. We have surpassed this goal and the total was over $1000.00.  Please continue to save your box tops and turn them into your child’s teacher at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year.  The school receives $0.10 for each box top, and the proceeds go to the school to purchase educational supplies.

Box Tops are going digital. Now you can scan your receipts and send Box Tops directly to the company for our school. Please see the website for directions:

Easy as 123, collect box tops for you and me.

If you still have paper Box Tops, you may turn them in to your child’s teacher.

Our Parent-Teacher Association is an organization which works hard each year to support both students and staff in providing funds to purchase classroom materials. They are also very active in helping teachers feel appreciated, hosting several different events throughout the year which really helps to build morale among the staff. We truly appreciate ALL our parents do to support our students and our teachers. If you have any free time, consider joining our PTA!
